CDR Greg Matlin, DIRAUX

In July of 2009, CDR Matlin reported aboard as the Directory of Auxiliary, Eleventh District Southern Region.

He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree with honors in Electrical Engineering in 1990 from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and a Master of Science Degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering in 1995 from the University of Michigan.

CDR Matlin's assignments reflect an affinity to the West Coast and an emphasis in Naval Engineering. He has six years at sea aboard CGC VENTUROUS, CGC MIDGETT, CGC HAMILTON, and CGC BOUTWEL. His staff tours include Maintenance and Logistics Command Pacific, Commanding Officer of Naval Engineering Support Unit Honolulu, Professor at the Coast Guard Academy, and Chief of Logistics at Sector Los Angeles – Long Beach.

His military decorations and insignia include one Meritorious Service Medal, four Coast Guard Commendation Medals, the Commandant's Letter of Commendation, and the Cutterman Insignia.
